"Sipe 0001"

I’m not much of a football fan. I’m not much of a sports fan in general, but I can definitely appreciate the way that sports can bring a variety of people from different backgrounds together.

With tones varying from light sandy colors, to golden browns, and black coffee colors, the Sipe clocks are full of browns. I chose the name ‘Sipe’ for these clocks because they are meant to honor the drive to succeed and the optimism of supporting people whom refuse to give up hope, even if they’re in the midst a near decade long drought.

This shou sugi ban wood pendulum clock features a cutout in the face of the piece that exposes a partially hidden swinging pendulum. This piece has an incredibly unique vertical wood grain on the clock face with a contrasting horizontal wood grain on the face of the pendulum. The shou sugi ban wood is colored with a swirling blend of browns, from a light sandy color to a deep dark brown, an finished with a semi-gloss protective coating. This piece features brass colored baton clock hands.

Clock Sides and Back: Shou sugi ban wood finished with swirls of different browns with a semi-gloss protective finish. The top, bottom, and sides of the back are offset from the face approximately 0.5” giving the face a slightly protruding look when displayed
