"Marinela 0001"

Champagne and sparkling white wines remind me of celebrations, beginnings, and welcoming new experiences; pretty much all of the same memories that I have of meeting this piece’s namesake, a family member named Marinela. Although neither of us knew that the other existed for more than the first two decades of our lives, meeting her filled me with happiness and intrigue, and gave me a grateful feeling of welcomeness. Whether this piece makes you think of Champagne, sparkling wine, a spritzer, or a Gemišt, we hope to convey this happiness, intrigue, and welcoming feeling in our Marinela pieces.

This sloshing pendulum drink piece features a champagne flute shaped cutout in the face of the piece that exposes a partially hidden swinging pendulum, giving the appearance of champagne sloshing back and forth in a glass. The edges of the piece are squared, and it is finished in an ebony color with a satin protective coating. It can either be hung on a wall, or displayed on a flat surface like a table or shelf.
