"Watts 0001"

Our Watts pieces were inspired by the story of the Golden Buddha; a story that would not have had such a strong impact had it not been for the conceptual teachings and understandings of their namesake.
Throughout our lives we are conditioned based off of our experiences and sensations of those experiences. Without delving into the philosophical consideration of what is good and what is bad, it can seem that our conditioning can either be from a positive or negative experience with either positive or negative impacts on our overall life experience. Whether we as individuals view these events and emotions as good or bad to our idea of ourselves, our Watts pieces are meant to reflect the conditioning, the experience, and the sensation that we are all subjectively splattered with throughout our lives.
We hope that our Watts pieces invoke the consideration that this societal splatter can be viewed as a chaotic burden, but can also be seen as an opportunity for spiritual growth. Letting go is not some action that we take, but rather a lack of action; for you do not need to let go, you simply need to stop holding on.
This textured wood wall clock is uniquely carved to provide the illusion of melting or degrading.  The top portion of the piece is stained white and covered with expressive black paint splatter and the bottom portion is burned to a char. The entire piece is finished with a satin protective coating and features red sword hands with a non-ticking red second hand.
