"Mato 0002"

Our Mato clocks are named after an important family member that I never had the chance to meet. However, the slim, strong, intriguing, and minimalistic look of these pieces remind me of the stories that I’ve heard about him. We hope that our Mato pieces can project these fundamental qualities the same way that their namesake has done for so many people and also for me, albeit in a secondhand way.

This shou sugi ban clock is burned to a char, and finished with several layers of a glossy protective coating to preserve the charred appearance. This piece has a similar finish to our Chuck clocks and features two unburned wooden inlays in the twelve and six position and gold colored serpentine hands with a non-ticking gold colored second hand.
