"Georgie 0001"

Although we like to use colors in a lot of our pieces, we try to use them in a way that accentuates the materials that we use. Every once in a while we come across a material so unique and alluring in its raw state, that we feel adding to it would only take away from these characteristics. Our Georgie pieces are named after a family member whose love of nature and understanding of the importance of resource preservation are pretty inspiring; or, at a minimum, pretty far ahead of the curve. I mean, he and his wife built a solar home in the 70s… We hope that our Georgie pieces remind you that beautiful art is all around you in the phenomena that is the physical world, and that as inhabitants of this world, it’s everyones option to appreciate it, and everyones challenge to respect it.

This shou sugi ban wood pendulum clock features an incredibly unique vertical wood grain on the clock face that we rarely come across. It is burned to a char, brushed to remove the char, and then finished with several layers of a satin protective coating to preserve its raw appearance. This piece features black baton hands.

Clock Sides and Back: Raw shou sugi ban wood with a semi-gloss protective finish. The top, bottom, and sides of the back are offset from the face approximately 0.5” giving the face a slightly protruding look when displayed
