Foolinahurry’s straightforward rock blends their grunge, alternative, and classic rock influences, with touches of punk and a dash of classic country twang. Their melodic bass lines with hard driving guitar riffs lay an attitude filled foundation for their vivid and cerebral entendre filled lyrics.
Foolinahurry is the brainchild of former Elevendy singer/guitarist/songwriter Joe Korzen. Born and raised outside of Detroit, and heavily influenced by the Beatles, Nirvana, and all of the legends of classic and outlaw country music, Korzen started learning guitar at the age of 14 so that he could start writing songs. Prior to his time in the Detroit based rock band Elevendy, Korzen co-fronted the punk rock bands Red and The Particle Accelerators. After brief stints playing bass in the Cleveland based rock band Whole ‘Nother Issue and the Detroit based progressive punk band LBJ Ruckus, Korzen relocated to Los Angeles where he played and recorded with Las Vegas based rock band The Jyst and the Los Angeles based emo punks Follow Your Failure. As a lifelong musician, Korzen has performed live on the On Air Mitch Albom radio show, and opened for acts like Buckcherry. His song ‘Fast’ was featured in the pilot episode of the NBC comedy Imaginary Friend.
After a near 10 year hiatus from playing music professionally to focus on his paintings as well as he and his wife’s wood based art, Korzen formed Foolinahurry, and recorded and released their debut EP; Where We Stand. Korzen and his wife Danielle now reside in Denver, CO where they continue to create art and music in the hopes of reciprocating the influence and pleasure that they have absorbed from so many others.
